  • God's Work Our Hands Outreach is held the first Thursday of each month . Our Parish Food Pantry and Saints Clothes Closet is open from 9 am til 2 pm.
  • Relay for Life:  St. John's Team participates in the Cherryville Relay for Life.
  • The Shelter of Gaston County:  St. John's provide a meal at The Shelter of Gaston County for Battered Women and children on the first Sunday of each month.
  • Community School Supply Drive:  We collect school supplies for our community. This is a big event that involves all area churches and cam to serve the children of our community.
  • Meals on Wheels:  Multiple parishioners volunteer for monthly food deliveries to local homes.

St. John's is sponsoring 12 students at Chavis Middle School thru the Backpack Weekend Food Program for 2022-2023 school year.  In cases of great need, this donated food is shared among the students' families, too.  Volunteers are needed to pack and deliver.  "Hunger Doesn't Take the Weekend Off". For more details please contact the church office.

THE PARISH FOOD PANTRY

The food pantry ministry has grown tremendously over the years because of the financial support of members from our church and the community.  Area, churches, schools, groups and clubs have held supported the pantry by holding food drives to donate to the pantry.
Many individuals from multiple churches, CAM and the community come together to make this happen each month. We usually serve about 100 families each month.
Many youth groups, sport teams, clubs, etc volunteer their time each month to pack the grocery bags each month.  We appreciate they time and dedication to serving others and helping makes the food pantry a huge success.
